Gradient Hexasphericon Bearing [1st Edition]

50.00

This is one of my original designs and prints of the fascinating hexisphericon, which rolls in a strange wobbly motion, among other interesting characteristics.

This one of a kind model is loaded with 22 wooden balls hand painted in matte acrylic. It was 3D printed in ‘Vertigo Galaxy’ biodegradable PLA plastic and is roughly 2.75” across. The two halves are held together by 12 magnets. While the two halves rotate, they do not do so very freely with the balls in the track. Neither does this act as much of a bearing. The painted balls may show minor signs of wear, including chips in the paint… I consider it part of the handmade charm. Featured in this video.
